October 16th, 2016 was a bitter sweet day for me to say the least! My 10 year old son Parker and I we're out on his first Mentor pheasant hunt, we also had my 13 year old Lab Husker along for what I new would more then likely be his last hunt. The hunt couldn't have worked out any better then it did, Husker pointed, flushed and retrieved, Parkers very first rooster! It was the last of 1,000 of birds for Husker and hopefully the first of many roosters for Parker. Without a doubt, this will be a day I'll never forget!
